Kerala Panchayat Election 2020: Results.
- Left Democratic Front (LDF) has made clear gains in the crucial Kerala local body elections.
- Big setback to Joseph faction in Thodupuzha.
- LDF retains Thiruvananthapuram corporation, secures 50 seats; NDA follows with 32 seats.
- Twenty-20 sweeps Aikaranadu panchayat in Ernakulam, wins all 14 seats.
- Hung verdict in 74-member Kochi corporation; UDF finishes first with 31 wards, but falls short of majority by 7 seats. LDF finishes second with 29 seats. Decision of nine independents will be crucial.

The state election commission of Kerala announced the schedule for elections to the three-tier local body system to be held in three phases in December.
First phase: December 8.
Second phase: December 10
Third phase: December 14
Votes will be counted on December 16.

Kerala has a total of 1200 self-government institutions that are categorised into village panchayats, block panchayats, district panchayats, municipalities and municipal corporations across 14 districts. However, the elections in December will be held to 1199 local bodies as the tenure of the Mattannur municipal council follows a separate calendar. The seats that are up for grabs include 15,962 wards in 941 village panchayats, 2080 seats in 152 block panchayats, 331 seats in 14 district panchayats, 3078 wards in 86 municipalities and 414 wards in six municipal corporations.
