India Election 2019: Voting for Lok Sabha polls from April 11 to May 19, result on May 23

India Election 2019New Delhi: Lok Sabha elections will begin on April 11 and polling will be held over seven phases through May 19, followed by counting of votes on May 23, the election commission announced on Sunday. The first phase will be held on April 11, second on April 18, third on April 23 and fourth on April 29, fifth on May 6, sixth on May 12 and seventh phase on May 19. Counting of votes for all seven phases covering 543 Lok Sabha constituencies would take place on May 23. The term of the present Lok Sabha ends on June 3.

22 states going in single phase: Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Andaman Niccobar, Dadra and Nagar haveli, Daman and Diu, Lakshdweep, Delhi, Pondicherry, Chandigarh. States going in 2 phases are Karnataka, Manipur, Rajasthan and Tripura. States going in 3 phases are Assam, Chhattisgarh. States going in 4 phases are Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha. The state going in 5 phase is Jammu and Kashmir. States going in 7 phases are Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Assembly polls in 4 states with Lok Sabha elections
The assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections but not in Jammu and Kashmir due to security reasons. Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will go to the polls for all seats in their respective assemblies as well as for the Lok Sabha in the first phase on April 11. Parliamentary and assembly polls will be held in Odisha across the first four phases on April 11, April 18, April 23 and April 29, respectively.
