Beef Curry

beef-curryIngredients:

  • Fresh Beef – 1 kg
  • Coconut Oil / Olive Oil – 8-10 tbsp
  • Onion – 3
  • Chopped Garlic – 1/2 cup (or Garlic paste – 2 tbsp)
  • Chopped Ginger – 1/2 cup (or Ginger paste – 2 tbsp)
  • Curryleaves – 2 sprigs
  • Tomato – 2 big (sliced)
  • Green Chillies – 5-7 (sliced)
  • Turmericpowder – 1/2 tsp
  • Kashmiri chilly powder – 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 4 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Hot water – as required

Preparation Method

  1. Clean, wash and drain the Beef pieces and keep aside
  2. Heat oil in a Pressure Cooker and saute sliced onions and Tomato
  3. Stir and sauté well till onions becomes softened and golden in colour.
  4. Add the finally chopped ginger, garlic, green chiliies and curry leaves.
  5. Then add turmeric powder, garam masala, kashmiri chilly powder and coriander powder to it. Add salt as required
  6. Add the beef pieces, cover and pressure cook on high for upto 2 steam whistles.
  7. Turn down the heat to low and cook for few more minutes.
  8. Beef curry is ready.

Serve hot with steamed rice / chappathi / appam / etc.
