Ingredients
- Mutton – 1 kg
- Coconut Oil / Olive Oil – 4 tbsp
- Onion – 4
- Ginger paste – 2 tbsp
- Garlic paste – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
- Tomato – 1 big (chopped)
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Kashmiri chilly powder – 2 tbsp
- Coriander powder – 3 tbsp
- Garam masala – 2 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Hot water – as required
Preparation Method
- Clean, wash and drain the mutton pieces and keep aside.
- Marinate the mutton pieces with 1/4 table spoon of turmuric powder and 1 tablespoon of garam masala and salt. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a kadai and saute sliced onions, chopped ginger & garlic and curry leaves till onions becomes soft.
- Add the remaining turmeric powder, garam masala, kashmiri chilly powder and coriander powder to it.
- Add chopped tomato and saute till it is mashed well in the masala. Add salt as required
- Then add the marinated mutton pieces and required quantity of hot water.
- Cover and cook it in a medium flame till the meat is cooked well and the curry reaches a medium thick gravy consistency.
- Serve hot with steamed rice / chappathi / appam / etc.
