Ingredients:
- Chicken – 1 kg
- Chilli powder – 2 tsp
- Coriander powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coconut Oil – 3 tsp + 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds – 3 pinch
- Dry Red chillies – 3
- Onion – 1 big (chopped finely)
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
- Garam Masala – 2 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Salt – To Taste
Preparation Method:
- Marinate the chicken with Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp salt and keep aside for 1/2 to 1 hour
- In a kadai / pan add the oil. When hot add the mustard seeds. When it splutters add the dry chilli and curry leaves.
- Add onions and sauté till it becomes soft. Add the ginger garlic paste till the raw smell goes off.
- Add the marinated chicken pieces now, add little water and allow to cook.
- When it is half cooked ( almost 10 min ), add half of garam masala and mix it well.
- Add enough Salt, close and cook the chicken for few more minutes, till the curry becomes thick
- When it is almost done add the rest of garam masala and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from fire. Serve is as a side dish with bread, chappati, roti or rice
